💛 I remember this project with great grief; it is part of my story that's made me resilient. 🖌 Acrylic Spray Paint on Plaster | 2016 The art installation is a social commentary on violence and insensitivity. In response to the innocent men who worked for my family and were killed in a massacre by members of gangs who oppress urban transportation in Honduras, I replicated three victim figures covered with a plastic bag made of a blanket dipped in plaster. During my last years living in Honduras, I became used to a scene uncommon in small-town Arkansas. The installation offered viewers the chance to experience this unique scene for themselves.

🏛️ Such an exciting moment! I managed to capture a photo of Hope, the blue whale skeleton, that was on exhibit at the Natural History Museum in London in 2017. If you ever have the opportunity, I recommend you to visit this special place and immerse yourself in the past and present of our world. It is an experience that leaves an indelible mark!

Hora del Cafecito Relief Print and Watercolor | 18" x 24" | 2018 This print holds memories of my summer vacations at my grandma’s house. She is an incredibly hospital woman, and would often invite neighbors, friends, and street vendors to take a break and enjoy some coffee and “pan dulce” (sweet bread) while having warm conversations with them. ☕🤎 Can you share in the comments a snack or meal that brings back warm memories for you?

What is creativity?✨ Here’s the definition I relate with the most: the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others. As a kid, I never recalled myself doodling or choosing to color or be crafty just for fun, the least to pursue a career in the Arts. The times I would bring some of my talents were for school projects and competitions. I had to stand out with what I did to secure my education somehow and add to my “resume” enough talent to receive a college scholarship. To me, creativity has been more of a tool to keep moving forward than just a means to have fun. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the moments I get to do art more than anything, but it's been a good gift I've nurtured in all its possible uses. Let me know what your thoughts are. 🖌 La Tusa Exterior Acrylic Paint on Wood Panel | 8' x 8' | 2023 | Downtown Springdale The mural is a tribute to Honduran 🇭🇳 folk traditions and highlights Latin American cultural representation and inclusion in the Northwest Arkansas community. 💃🏼🕺🏻 This barn quilt pattern features an aerial view of a Honduran folk dancing group. Onlookers can witness the whimsical "La Tusa" dance from the street, where male dancers offer their partners a corn husk. This playful gesture initially upsets the women until they adorn their hair with a wheat flower, enchanting them again. Hello! Hola! Let me introduce myself✨ I’m Azalia Molina, a Honduran multidisciplinary artist who uses clay, printmaking, and painting to reveal my home country's culture, traditions, and social problems. I began my career when I was awarded a full tuition scholarship for undergraduate studies in the United States. During my first year as an undergrad, I took an art requirement course where I learned ceramics. After falling in love with the medium, I continued to learn more art mediums and techniques, receiving a B.S. in Studio Art and Business Administration from the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas, in 2018. I paused my artistic career for 3 years after graduation. However, moving back to NWA in 2021 awakened my desire to bring back my creative journey. After all, Arkansas has always been my safe place to create and where it all began. I continue my creative career through commissioned work, public artwork, and leading my own marketing agency, @clevermarketing.nwa. I can’t wait to keep sharing some exciting news and projects that will be happening for the rest of the year!

What started as a college art class requirement, quickly became a passion. Then, a calling and a way of living✨
